Snow White With The Red Hair Season 3: Latest Updates

Shirayuki

Snow White with the Red Hair is an anime series from Bones Animation Studio. It was produced by Hakusensha, Warner Bros. Japan, KlockWorx, and Showgate. The anime is based on the shoujo fantasy romance manga series “Akagami no Shirayuki-hime,” written by Akizuki Sorata.

The anime series follows the life and journey of Shirayuki, a gifted herbalist. She lives in a small village in the kingdom of Tanbarun and runs her own herbal store as an apothecary.

Although her name is Shirayuki, meaning Snow White, she is more famous for her luscious red locks. Her fame and beauty attract the attention of the silly Prince Raji of Tanbarun, who plans to make Shirayuki his concubine.

From here on, the actual story and journey of Shirayuki begin. Prince Zen Wistalia of the Kingdom of Clarines saves her and takes her away to his court. The anime series Snow White with the Red Hair was an instant hit with fans for its wholesome romantic plot and light-hearted story.

The makers of the show released two seasons between 2015 and 2016. The series amassed a dedicated fan following with a popularity ranking of #299 on MyAnimeList. The next question is: when will season 3 come out?

Official Announcement on Snow White With the Red Hair Season 3

The manga series Akagami no Shirayuki-hime has 26 volumes, out of which Bones Animation Studio has animated only eight volumes. The first season of Snow White with the Red Hair was released in July 2015, with four manga volumes as its plot.

In January 2016, Snow White With The Red Hair season 2 was released, with the next four manga volumes as its basis. After that, Bones Animation Studio has not released a new season and it has been seven years since the last one.

Fans and followers of the anime series Snow White with the Red Hair are anxious and hopeful for season 3, as nothing is holding back the release of a new season.

The two seasons of the anime were a hit, there are sufficient manga volumes to create season 3, and fans are eager for the new season. However, the production companies involved and Bones Animation Studio have not released any statement on Snow White with the Red Hair season 3.

They have not cancelled it, nor have they renewed it. This is making the fans uneasy about updates. Since there is no news on the cancellation of the series, we can be sure of a new season, but there is no definite date for release.

Google Trends Data Analysis of Snow White with the Red Hair Season 3

Snow White with the Red Hair is an anime series that is based on a long-running manga series that premiered in 2006. The manga series was already quite popular when it was turned into an anime series.

Many of the manga fans transferred to the anime series, along with many first-time Shoujo anime fans. The search term Snow White With The Red Hair has maintained strong search trends despite the end of season 2 in 2016.

In fact, the search volumes for the show picked up in July 2023 due to a shock announcement by the author of the manga series. Sorata Akizuki announced her hiatus from the manga series, causing overwhelming despair among her fans.

This is sad news for the fans, as the anime series is also awaiting the renewal of Snow White with the Red Hair season 3. If we search for the specific term Snow White With The Red Hair season 3, the volumes have been choppy, with the trend peaking and dipping constantly.

Social Media Engagement Snow White With The Red Hair Season 3

The story is quite different on social media platforms, as there has been very little activity regarding this show over the past 12 months. Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) came alive in April and June of 2023 to coincide with the release of the news from the author, Sorata Akizuki.

The little activity on social media is concentrated around the manga series, while there is no activity for season 3 of the anime series. This could be attributed to the lengthy gap of seven years since the release of Snow White with the Red Hair Season 2.

The Expected Plot of the Upcoming Season of Snow White with the Red Hair

As mentioned above, the manga series “Akagami no Shirayuki-hime” that inspired this anime show has a total of 26 volumes till now. For the two seasons of Snow White with the Red Hair, Bones Animation Studio only used 8 volumes.

This leaves us many more volumes worth of stories to be covered. By the end of Snow White with the Red Hair season 2, we saw that Shirayuki had successfully moved to the Kingdom of Clarines, out of the reach of Prince Raji.

She also used her knowledge as an apothecary to join the royal court and became the apprentice of Garack along with Ryuu. While Shirayuki escaped Prince Raji, she fell in love with her rescuer, Prince Zen Wistalia.

By the end of season 2, they both grow closer to each other and acknowledge their feelings for one another. In Snow White with the Red Hair season 3, we can see both of them face challenges as Shirayuki goes to the northern part of the kingdom to expand her knowledge of herbs.

Prince Izana, who was initially against Shirayuki, appears to be watching her closely to find any trace of deception in her. Although Prince Zen has expressed his affection for Shirayuki, he is still working towards making himself a worthy prince.

This is holding him back from truly being with Shirayuki. Season 3 of this series would definitely shed light on how both of them overcome these challenges.
