“Haikyu!!” is a beloved and widely acclaimed Japanese manga and anime series, both written and illustrated by the talented Haruichi Furudate. The heart of the narrative centres around the indomitable spirit of Shoyo Hinata, a young boy brimming with unwavering determination to excel in the sport of volleyball, despite grappling with a relatively diminutive stature.

His inspiration? A pro volleyball player of similar stature who defied the odds and achieved greatness. Intriguingly, Hinata’s fervour and dedication lead him to embark on an extraordinary journey. In his final year of middle school, he takes a leap of faith and creates his very own volleyball team, an endeavour that sets the stage for a captivating adventure in the world of competitive sports.

Originally serialized in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump, “Haikyu!!” made its debut in February 2012 and continued to enrapture readers until July 2020. This remarkable manga’s transition to the realm of anime was met with immense enthusiasm.

Official Announcement of Haikyu!! Season 5

This is where things get interesting. There have been no official announcements regarding the release or cancellation of Haikyu Season 5. However, there has been an announcement regarding the next instalment within the Haikyuu franchise.

It is a two-part movie series titled “Haikyu!! Final” with both movies intended to cover the remaining 100 out of the 402 chapters of the source material. Yup, you heard it right, the remaining century of chapters will be covered in just 2 movies.

Needless to say, fans are getting nervous about the adaptation since only a couple of movies are not enough to do justice to the source material. Another season is a must.

However, Haikyu has officially claimed that these movies are going to be the climax providers for the story. But a bigger question that stands is, what about the 5th season?

During the research for this article, we were unable to find any official post that explicitly said that there won’t be a season 5. This is important to note since the announcement for the movie might only be a hook for the fans and the show might have another season first and then release the movies.

However, it wouldn’t be incorrect if fans feel that this idea is too far-fetched. For now, we can say that there won’t be another season for Haikyu and the most we will get are two movies with the first one titled “Haikyu!! Battle of the Garbage Dump”.
