Fuller House Season 6: Everything We Know So Far

 

The immensely popular TV series Fuller House ran from 2016 to 2020 and contains plenty of family drama tropes, to say nothing of its laugh-out-loud comedy content. If you feel you’ve maybe heard the name somewhere before, that’s because this hit show is a follow-up to the acclaimed 1986 sitcom Full House.

 

The character D. J. Fuller gets an expanded story arc in this one. She continues her life in this TV series, as a recently widowed loving mother of three. Her sons are quite the handful, so her sister Stephanie moves in to help her balance her duties as a mom and veterinarian without completely shutting down her personal life.

 

Kimmy, Fuller’s bestie, also moves in to help, but she brings along her teenage daughter. The show is certainly ‘fuller’ in a lot of ways. The series was created by Jeff Franklin (who also created the original Full House).

 

It stars Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Elias Harger, Andrea Barber, Adam Hagenbuch, Lori Loughlin, and John Stamos in important roles. Netflix ordered an initial thirteen episodes for season one, which started streaming on February 26, 2016.

 

 

 

Official Announcement for Fuller House Season 6

 

Fans of the show will love to hear good news about Fuller House going forward into season 6. We’re happy to inform you that Netflix has indeed greenlit the show for a sixth season, comprising eighteen episodes.

 

As of now, the first nine episodes are scheduled to go live on November 16, 2025. The remaining will air on May 14, 2026. These dates may change, but as of now, they seem set in stone.

The story so far in Fuller House – from seasons one to five – unfolds a whole twenty years after the original series, Full House. The core character Donna Jo “D.J.” Tanner takes centre stage. She is played by the immensely talented Candace Cameron Bure. DJ loses her firefighter husband. She finds herself moving in with her father and trying to pick up the pieces.

 

Her childhood home becomes a fount of memories, some of them heartbreaking. The place is going to be sold off soon. So a party is planned and a family get-together takes place.

 

Before long, DJ’s pretence at having everything in control breaks apart and it is clearly revealed just how anxious she is to live alone with her sons and not have her beloved hubby with her.

 

Her father Danny (played by Bob Saget) realizes she could do with living in a familiar space, so he decides to sell the house to DJ. One thing leads to another and her sister Stephanie (played by Jodie Sweetin) leaves her DJ (not the same as the protagonist’s name, by the way) career in England and moves in with her sister, who apparently needs all the help she can get.

 

Kimmy Gibbler (played by Andrea Barber) is DJ’s best friend and she too is determined to lighten her buddy’s burdens. Kimmy has a teenage daughter whom she needs to bring along.

 

Most of the cast members are returnees from the original show, Full House. This is one of the reasons the recent series Fuller House became so popular. Old-gold names include John Stamos, Scott Weinger, Dave Coulier, Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit, Blake Tuomy-Wilhoit, and Lori Loughlin.

As expected, Fuller House peaked in the Google Trends charts during its initial release in February 2016. Interest in the show continued to bloom. September and December 2017 (the following year) saw renewed interest in the show.

 

It started going back up the Google Trends charts in December 2018. Periodic peaks and dips defined the show’s progress, all the way to 2023 during which interest in the show dulled after February.

 

Season 6 is scheduled for 2025, and we are already predicting a peak in Fuller House’s Google Trends numbers at that time.

As a student who grew up to be an event planner, Kimmy is DJ’s best friend and she does not sit on the sidelines when her friend needs her the most.

 

She has no other option but to include her teen daughter when she moves in with DJ to help her balance the emotional chaos that took over her life following the death of DJ’s firefighter husband.

 

Though she can be embarrassing at times, Kimmy is certainly one of the most endearing characters in the show. Kimmy Gibbler is played by Andrea Barber.

 

4. Ramona Gibbler

 

With Kimmy for a mom and her whole life ahead of her, Ramona has a distinct presence in the Fuller House series. She was not in the first Full House show, making her one of the original characters in this latest series.

 

Ramona is also the only teen girl in the house, adding to the drama and emotive value she brings to the script. The girl is also fluent in Spanish, a trait she learned from her Argentinian dad.

 

She also inherited some of her mom’s quirks, making her as funny as she is smart. Ramona Gibbler is played by Soni Nicole Bringas.

 

5. Jackson Fuller

 

Another original character to grace the Fuller House series is Jackson, DJ’s eldest son. He’s a student with a keen interest in Mexican wrestling and motorcycles. The kid has plenty of interesting moments in the show, and some nice lines too.

 

He contributes some good comedy, especially when he tries to impress his crush Lola, who happens to be Ramona’s best friend. Jackson Fuller is played by Michael Campion.

 

6. Max Fuller

 

He too is an original character written for Fuller House and is DJ’s second son. This is her nerdiest kid who loves all things Shark Week and oceanography. Max also likes cooking shows and dinosaurs.

7. Tommy Fuller, Jr.

 

He is literally the baby in the family. Tommy’s natural cuteness makes him the centre of most people’s attention. He wouldn’t know it, but his delayed language skills make it challenging for him to enter a prestigious preschool.

 

His very first word had little to do with his mum and more to do with her sister. Little Tommy said “Steph” before any other word in his life. Tommy Fuller, Jr. is played by Dashiell and Fox Messitt.

Fuller House is a class apart and cannot really be compared to other shows in the same league. For one thing, it follows up on the extraordinary stories of characters who became immensely popular in a previous original series titled Full House.

 

The latter ran from 1986 to 1995 and gave the world excellent family drama and comedy. When Fuller House came on the scene in 2016 till 2020, it did justice to the legacy of the show that preceded it.

3. Black-ish

 

This remarkable TV series takes viewers through the ups and downs of an African-American family. It delivers powerful sentiments, great comedy, and some of the most balanced storylines seen on television in recent years.
