One of the biggest selling points of this series was its concept of curses. It’s very potent and you don’t wanna miss this series.

This is because it’s a simple yet exciting shounen with beautiful fights and a great concept.

The story is about a girl named Shoko Nishimiya and a boy named Shoya Ishida.

The story is about Chihiro Ogino, a cute little 10-year-old girl, and her life in a new world.

 

She along with her parents were looking at an amusement park on their way to their home.

 

However, this turns out to be the worst act they could have ever done. She starts to experience some of the weirdest things that can happen to her.

 

Her parents turn into pigs and spirits roaming all around to name a few. She gets teleported to the spirit realm and now she has to work her way to escape this world and cure her parents.

 

However, a 10-year-old in a completely new world is not something pretty easy to deal with.

 

Spirited Away was the highest-grossing Japanese movie of all time with total earnings of ¥30.4 Billion from the box office collection.

 

It has won multiple awards including the Oscars. So yeah, If you haven’t watched this Ghibli movie yet, I can’t express how much you are missing out on.

 

 

15. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

 

 

 

It’s time for Big Brain, weebs. Because now we are dealing with one of the smartest anime out there, Code Geass.

 

Open up those cages and beware to grasp every detail of this entry. This 25-episode TV anime aired back in 2006.

 

It is an original created by Ookouchi Ichirou and animated by Studio Sunrise. The story is about a Britannian student named Lelouch Lamperouge who became a part of a crossfire between 2 nations.

 

There have been constant attempts from Britania to take over Japan, now known as Area 11.

 

Although the war was brutal, Lelouch manages to make it back alive thanks to a girl named C.C.

 

She gave him a special power called ‘Geass’ aka ‘Power Of Kings’. Now with this ability called ‘Power Of Obedience’, Lelouch decides to attack Britannia and bring an absolute end to their deeds.

 

Looked upon by many as the best Mecha series of all time, Code Geass is an anime that will oil your brain and make you think about everything you do in real life.

 

The series received awards like ‘The Best Anime TV Series Award’, ‘The Best TV Animation Award’, and  ‘The Most Popular Anime Award’ to mention a few.

 

 

16. Your Lie In April

 

 

 

So I see that you had a lot of fun after watching our previous entry of GTO.

 

Well, how about we change the emotions a little bit and instead give you depression this time?

 

No? Well, it doesn’t matter, here have Your Lie In April. This 22-episode TV series aired back in 2014.

 

It is an anime adaptation of a manga. The manga was written and illustrated by Arakawa Naoshi.

 

The story is about Kousei Arima who has lost his mother forever. He was a piano expert before but now has given up on music.

 

Two years have passed but looking at the piano still makes him uncomfortable. However, his colorless life takes a new shape when he meets Kaori Miyazono.

 

Kaori is an amazing violinist who decides to bring back the fire in Kousei for music.

 

Thus begins the journey of Kaori and Kousei as they explore the depths of music and themselves.

 

The days pass and Kousei starts to see that music is much more than playing the perfect notes.

 

The series has a fantastic story presentation and atmosphere creation to it. The episodes are so filled and the ending is just- I won’t say it, go and check for yourself.

Have you ever wondered what a ‘Special’ teacher would be? Maybe an actual billionaire, maybe an actual doctor, or maybe an actual gangster.

 

As unique as it may sound, there’s an actual anime made over this which goes by the name ‘Great Teacher Onizuka’.

 

This 43-episode TV series aired back in 1999. It is an anime adaptation of a manga.

 

The manga was written and illustrated by Fujisawa Tohru. The story is pretty simple. It’s about Eikichi Onizuka who was a gangster and delinquent but is now a teacher.

 

Anyway, the reason for him becoming a teacher is simple. Onizuka wants a young teenage wife during his old days.

 

Therefore he finds a job at a prestigious school by dealing with the principal in his way and became the homeroom teacher of Class 3-4.

 

However, after joining the class, he realizes that the students here are facing some major social issues like anxiety, stress, and sexual harassment.

 

Now Onizuka is doing what any great teacher would do, solve the problem of his kids using his unique methods.

 

That gives him the name he has now, Great Teacher Onizuka. School life might not have been in your favor as a kid but Great Teacher Onizuka would make you love the life you had in school.

 

Moreover, you would start searching for 1 Onizuka in your life as well.

 

 

18. Princess Mononoke

 

 

 

Yet another Ghibli movie making its way. But what else can you expect, they are just so good.

 

And this time around, we probably have the best of them all. Princess Mononoke is a 2-hour long movie that aired back in 1997.

 

Yes, it’s THAT old. It is an original anime directed by Miyazaki Hayao and animated by Studio Ghibli.

 

The story starts with a young prince named Ashitaka, trying to seek a cure for a curse on his right hand.

 

To do so, he traveled to a place where 2 groups of people were having their war.

 

On one side, we had Lady Eboshi and on the other side, we had Princess San.

 

Lady Eboshi was the one promoting deforestation whereas Princess San was with Forest Spirits and avoiding that act.

 

Now Ashitaka tries to resolve the issue by himself along with bearing the pain of the curse.

 

However, what fate has in store for all three of them is still unknown. Princess Mononoke was mainly created to highlight the issues of deforestation.

 

And it fulfilled its purpose beautifully. Best Japanese Movie, Best Animation, Japanese Movie Fans’ Choice awards, and the Best Picture award are some of the many praises this movie received on multiple occasions.

 

 

19. Howl’s Moving Castle

 

 

 

Ghibli movies just don’t seek any limits in their rankings and appeal. I mean just look at this, Howl’s Moving Castle, made it so high on this list.

 

Howl’s Moving Castle is a 2-hour long movie that aired back in 2004. It is an anime adaptation of a novel.

 

The movie is directed by Miyazaki Hayao and animated by Studio Ghibli. The story is about the life of Sophie Hatter and her journey after meeting Howl, a wizard known for his magic.

 

The meeting that featured both of them caused a massive stir for a witch and she ended up cursing the maiden.

 

Sophie was a normal girl who didn’t expect much from her life but now the curse made her an old woman.

22. The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya

 

 

 

Looked upon by many as one of the best anime movies that the industry offered last decade, we have the disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi.

The manga was written by Tanigawa Nagaru and illustrated by Itou Noizi. The story is set in The Melancholy Of Suzumiya Haruhi realm where Christmas is about to hit.

It is an original anime directed by Nagai Tatsuyuki and animated by A-1 Pictures. Jinta Yadomi is a recluse who wishes nothing from society.

 

During the days of summer, he was having a fun time when Meiko Honma came out of nowhere and asked him to complete a wish.

 

However, Jinta doesn’t bother much. After all, Meiko Henma has been dead for a long while.

 

However, soon he realizes that the stuff he was expecting to be hallucinations is in fact, the truth.

 

The Meiko he was talking with was the Ghost of the late Meiko and she wants her wish to be granted.

 

Jinta gathers his old friends that separated after the death of Meiko and start working to rest her soul in peace.

 

The series will make your ball your eyes out. It’s a Maeda Jun original so that’s expected.

The story is about an alien species known as ‘Parasytes’ making their way to capture the planet.

 

The strength that they possess is incredibly lethal. They can manipulate the minds of humans and transform them into multiple forms.

 

These aliens get complete control of their prey and can use them to their advantage.

 

With the idea of ruling, these creatures pave their way into humanity and start to create disorder.

 

My man Shinichi Izumi also got a ‘Parasyte’ attacking him. Its name was Migi. However, due to some unknown reason, Migi fails to capture Shinichi and this allows him to have partial control over his body.

 

Now, this weird combination of Shinichi and Migi becomes the enemy of all. They have to do all in their power to survive in this world where humanity and its existence are uncertain.

 

The series beautifully questions the idea of ‘Human’ and its characteristics. If you haven’t dug into the world of Seinen anime, Parasyte would be a great way to your experience.

 

 

35. Psycho-Pass

 

 

 

Man, a banger sci-fi is kind of tricky to find. However, you are reading this list so you wouldn’t have much of a hard time.

 

Especially when I am here to recommend Psycho-Pass to all you sci-fi fans out there.

 

Psycho-Pass is a 22-episode TV series that aired back in 2012. It is an original anime directed by Motohiro Katsuyuki and animated by Production I.G.

 

The story is set in the 22nd century where the sense of justice is different.

 

To know if someone could be a criminal or not, the world uses their criminal intent level known as ‘Psycho Pass’.

 

Akane Tsunemori has a strong sense of justice and believes in this system. However, as she groups up with Shinya Kougami, her sense of justice and belief in the system shatter as she experiences the truth of this advanced world.

 

The story is probably one of the best that the anime industry has to offer.

 

The protagonist is fantastic and so are the side characters. A great blend of themes and personality.

 

 

36. Puella Magi Madoka Magica

 

 

 

I see that you are a fan of magical girls’ shows. So you would have probably watched some great Magical girl shows.

It’s about a guy who got reincarnated in a mystical world as a slime. Now don’t disregard it as ‘Another Generic Isekai’, oh no boy.

 

It’s much better. Just the sheer amount of enjoyment is more than enough to make you love this series.

 

If you are a fan of some calm and entertaining stuff that requires no brain then Slime Isekai is THE Isekai for you.

 

 

56. Dorohedoro

 

 

 

A fantastic fantasy series has made its way on our list. Meeting the benchmarks of the fans, we have Dorohedoro.

 

This 12-episode TV anime aired back in 2020. It is adapted from a manga that was written and illustrated by Hayashida Q.

 

The story is set in the city of HOLE where the strong attack the weak.

 

Kaiman gets cursed by a sorcerer and now is in search of the culprit in this rotten world of HOLE.

 

However, to find the culprit, he must bite their heads and seek the answer. Will he be able to realize the culprit and his forgotten past?

Reality is expressed beautifully with the use of animals in Beastar’s narrative. See, I know what you might be thinking.

 

Liking this anime would make you a furry but hey, that’s not true. The series features animals and portrays the incorrect structure of society with a beautiful metaphor.

The light novel was written by Maruyama Kugane and illustrated by so-bin. The story is about a virtual reality game that Momonga was playing.

 

The game was about to shut down and servers were going down. Therefore, Momonga decided to play the game for one final time.

 

However, to his surprise, even after midnight, he is still able to play the game and interact with NPC.

 

But something is different. He is actually IN THE GAME. Therefore, he can control it even after the game was shut.

 

But why is it happening and how can he overcome it? That’s the question he seeks answers for.

Tiger & Bunny is a 25-episode TV series that aired back in 2011. It is an original anime directed by Satou Keiichi and animated by Studio Sunrise.

 

The series is set in the city of Stern Bild where people who have special abilities are referred to as ‘NEXT’.

 

They can use their abilities for wrong or right purposes. A group called NEXT starts to appear on Hero TV and takes down villains and evildoers.

 

Amongst that group, is Kotetsu T. Kaburagi also known as “Wild Tiger”, who has been a hero for a while.

 

However, his performance has been down lately due to a lack of coordination and strength.

 

So to reach the same level as his peers again, he teams up with a hero named Barnaby Brooks Jr. also known as Bunny.

 

But this couple doesn’t fit that well, to say the least. Therefore, this group must get together and strive to bring down the evildoers and get a boost to their careers.

 

Tiger & Bunny is NOT an anime made for children or so. It has its serious appeal with a great narrative.

 

For a fan of some great mystery superpower anime, this one is a great choice.

It’s funny, it’s exciting and has a lot of great characters. A pretty good watch if you ask me.

For many, this is one of their first few anime and thus, it holds a special place in their hearts.

 

Tokyo Ghoul is a 12-episode TV series that aired back in 2014. It is an anime adaptation of a Manga.

 

The Manga was written and illustrated by Ishida Sui. The story is set in Tokyo where an unidentified species called ‘Ghouls’ have made their way.

 

These species have fast regeneration and a human-like appearance. However, the most decisive factor for ghouls is their brute strength.

 

Moreover, these guys don’t like burgers or anything for that matter. They like human flesh though, which is, you know, an interesting food source.

 

Anyway, these ghouls have taken over the city and are the potential reason for many human deaths.

 

Now our boy Kaneki Ken is far away from all this misery. However, his life gets entangled with Ghouls thanks to his date.

 

Yeah. He got his life threatened because of his date. The reason is that my boy accidentally dated a Ghoul and the Ghoul tried to feast on him.

 

However, luck plays in his favor and he manages to survive. The problem is, he is not a human anymore.

 

He is a Ghoul now. And losing humanity is a nightmare. Therefore, Kaneki has started to live this nightmare where he has to eat his kind just to survive.

 

Troubles are on their way as Kaneki figures out his new life and tries to absorb its effects.

 

Tokyo Ghoul is undoubtedly a massively popular series both in terms of Manga and Anime.

 

The series has gained widespread recognition amongst otakus and they love the series. So if you are a fan of some edgy and brutal action, Tokyo Ghoul is the show for you.

Aha! Some wholesome stuff is on its way ladies and gentlemen. I believe you have even heard of this one if you have been in this community for a while.

 

Yup, it’s Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions. This 12-episode anime decided to show up on the TVs, back in 2012.

 

It is an anime adaptation of a light novel. The light novel was written by Torako and illustrated by Ousaka Nozomi.

 

The series follows the concept of ‘chuunibyou’ and its effects on Yuuta Togashi. Chuunibyou, to explain in the best way possible, is the idea of being an individual from a fantasy world.

 

Sounds crazy? Well, let me explain. As you all know, there have been multiple stages in our life where we looked at ourselves a bit differently.

 

We considered ourselves ‘special’ and deviated from the masses. This act of considering oneself ‘special’ can go as far as looking at oneself as a being from a realm that doesn’t even exist.

 

A fantasy realm. So, my boy, Yuuta Togashi has had his share of such days.

 

And as you would have guessed, this idea brings a lot of embarrassment with it.

 

Thus, Yuuta, being known as the “Dark Flame Master”, also experienced a lot of embarrassment as well.

 

So he decided to leave all of this and move on. All of this stupid stuff that happened in middle school is supposed to be overlooked by Yuuta in high school.

 

Thus, he chooses a high school that’s far away from his middle school. However, his approach to living a chuunibyou-free life shatters as he meets Takanashi Rikka.

 

Now Rikka, just like Yuuta, had her share of chuunibyou. She proclaims herself as the vessel of the ‘Wicked Eye’.

 

In other words, she hasn’t overcome the stage of chuunibyou yet. Now Yuuta, a man who wanted to give up on his delusions, met a girl who has those delusions.

 

Ironic, isn’t it? And this irony continues as he and Rikka get to know each other better and spend more time together.

 

This anime is specifically for people who love their wholesome, moe, cute, etc kind of stuff.

 

Throw in some KyoAni magic and bam! You have a fantastic series to accompany you this evening.

 

By the way, here’s a little trivia for you. This series was an honorable mention in the 2010 Kyoto Animation Awards.

 

 

80. Welcome To Demon School! Iruma kun

 

 

 

Time to talk about some more Isekai, weebs. You see, the appeal of Isekai is more or less, the fun and enjoyable nature of the series.

 

And when we want some fun and enjoyable Isekai, Iruma Kun is a name that we should remember.

 

This 23-episode anime aired back in 2019. It is an anime adaptation of a manga.

 

The manga was written and illustrated by Nishi Osamu. Whereas the anime was animated by Bandai Namco Pictures.

 

The story is about Iruma Kun (obviously) but his full name is Iruma Suzuki. You see, my man doesn’t seem to have a great life for himself.

 

His parents never cared for him or themselves either. They were always slacking off and this forced him to work even at such a young age.

 

Now irresponsible deeds from his parents just don’t end here. One of the worst things his parents had done was sell him to a Demon named Sullivan.

 

Now getting yourself sold to a demon may not seem the best thing in the world.

 

Luckily, he isn’t standing in the misfortune for now. Sullivan wanted Iruma just like a grandchild and not for any evil purposes.

 

So he used to take a lot of care of him. Iruma was also admitted to a school.

 

However, that school was not a regular school. It was a demon school. Now a human getting transferred into a demon school might not seem like a great idea.

 

I mean he can’t perform magic and he has to conceal his identity from everyone.

 

To his favor, the chairman of the school is Sullivan himself. So it’s a bit easier for him to hide but being able to hide forever is a tough task.

 

A comical tone is added to the series as Iruma tries to keep his secret yet blends in with his school.

 

This Isekai anime is one of those ‘Shut-your-brain-and-just-enjoy’ kinds of series. You don’t have to worry about ‘Complexity’ or ‘Depth’.

 

No! Throw that out of the window. All you have to worry about is whether he would be able to hide his truth or not.

 

 

81. Aggretsuko!

 

 

Office work might not be the most exciting thing for the person involved in doing it.

 

The frustration and irritation, one develop from his/her repetitive life are so real. And such a real problem is placed comically in this fantastic series called Aggretsuko.

 

Aggretsuko or Aggressive Retsuko is a 12-episode ONA series that aired back in 2018.

 

The anime is directed by Rareko and animated by Fanworks. It was produced by Netflix itself.

 

Oh yeah. The anime tells us the stereotypical happening in an office with a glass of humor added to it.

 

For example, we have our ruling boss who does nothing, like seriously nothing. Then we have those who cater to the boss for no reason.

 

And then some people work their face-off to keep up for a great performance. Retsuko the red panda falls in the final category.

 

She is the one who stays up nights long just to complete the work her colleagues are lazy to do.

 

Out of this stressful life, Retsuko likes to let off some steam in a local death metal karaoke club.

 

Ohh yeah, that’s how swaggy she is. However, her life as a worker and her death metal karaoke is something that might not seem to be matching at first, but could potentially be a great combination.

 

The series is filled with humor and fun that anyone can enjoy. Whether it’s your troupes or your actual office life, being able to enjoy this series is a piece of cake.

The story is about a beautiful couple, Takaki Toono and Akari Shinohara who have been loving each other since childhood.

 

However, their love story gets destroyed due to the distance being developed between them and they can’t even control it.

 

Every day, they wake up, thinking about each other. And this bitter reality of not being able to meet and just having memories to adore hurts them more and more as time passes by.

 

This movie is a beautiful representation of what it means to be a part of a bond where you can’t even meet your partner.

 

It’s an experience that anyone would ball their eyes on. 5 Centimeters Per Second won the 2007 Asia Pacific Screen Award for Best Animated Feature Film.

 

The presentation of the idea of love from far away is extremely delicate. If you were ever a part of a long-distance relationship, you should genuinely check out this movie. It’s beautiful.

However, this is not as simple as it sounds. Remember that girl he fought with?

 

You guessed it! She is one of the children   Ohh why did I say ‘One of the’?

 

Well, that’s because he has to tutor 5 sisters altogether. A bit hesitant at first, Futaro accepts the task and thus begins his journey filled with inexpressible struggle.

 

However, this struggle might turn out to be a blessing in disguise for his social life.

 

This anime is a recent installment in the harem genre but still has a name for itself.

Once, he got ambushed by demons and that accident makes him realize that he is the son of Satan himself.

 

Moreover, Satan wants him back so he can host him to conquer Assiah. However, Rin has other plans.

 

Instead of focusing on his father’s plan, he decides to become an exorcist to save Assiah alongside his brother Yukio.

However, upon his transfer, he notices something strange. He realizes that all the students in his class have an unrealistically gloomy atmosphere.

 

They are always sad and they don’t seem to know why. The mysteries don’t seem to end right there.

 

Soon Kouichi realizes that a girl named Mei Misaki is ignored by everyone in the class.

 

Curious to know why, Kouichi gets involved with Mei, despite her and the other classmates’ warnings.

These killers would do anything to have another leader other than Prime Minister Honest. It’s their mission, it’s their final goal.

 

Joining this group is a newbie named Tatsumi who enrolled in this group because he was impressed by Its ideals.

 

He is from a poor town and was on his adventure to gain fame and economical assistance for his village.

 

However, from going through villages to slaughtering humans, how will Tatsumi adjust to this massive change in his life?

 

And will Night Raid be able to achieve its objective? Akame Ga Kill is looked upon by many as one of the most outstanding anime out there.

 

The narrative and its presentation make it a watch that would be remembered for years.

It is an anime adaptation of a Manga. The manga was written by Kagami Takaya and Furuya Daisuke and illustrated by Yamamoto Yamato.

 

The story is set in a world where an unknown virus shows up out of nowhere and brings humanity to the brink of extinction.

 

This virus affects everyone above the age of 13 and thus, children are not affected.

 

However, the misfortune for children doesn’t stop anyway. These children are kidnapped by vampires for the sake of their blood and thus, they reach a new world with almost no adults to be found.

 

As time passes, Yuuchiro Hyakuya, a kid who survived the virus, decides to escape this world.

 

This world where he has been trapped by Vampires just for the sake of his world.

 

With freedom in his eyes, he and his friend Mika along with some other kids decide to leave the world.

 

However, during that process, all of those kids are killed by Vampires and only Yuu manages to make it out.

 

Now, when he gets out of this world, he realizes that the entire humanity isn’t gone and instead, he has the chance to take revenge.

 

Now with the intent to take revenge on the vampires who killed his ‘Family’, Yuu joins the side of the humans.

 

However, the activities these humans are performing may be much darker than we think. The appeal of Seraph Of The End is its likable characters and great fights.

 

The emotional weight and emphasized the idea of ‘Family’ are also placed beautifully. I feel this one would be a great addition to your watchlist.

 

 

88. The Irregular at Magic High School

Maybe an interesting one for this entry like The Irregular At Magic High School? Yeah, that would be a great addition to this list.

 

The Irregular At Magic High School is a 26-episode TV series that aired back in 2014.

 

It was adapted by Studio Madhouse. The original light novel was written by Satou Tsutomu and illustrated by Ishida Kana.

 

The anime is set in a world where magic is not mythical anymore. Instead, magic has become a skill and a technical skill with that.

 

To become a great magician, one takes admission to First High School which provides education about magic.

 

The courses are, however, divided into 2 segments. The first one is known as ‘Blooms’, which is a group that has students with really great scores.

 

And then there are ‘Weeds’ who are students who aren’t that good performers. Blooms get enrolled in the first course while weeds get involved in the second course.

 

The siblings Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba took the entrance exam of First High School. Now Miyuki managed to get a spot in the first score.

 

However, Tatsuya didn’t. Even though Tatsuya didn’t have such an incredible score on the practical exam, his physical abilities and extensive knowledge are exceptional.

 

This makes him an irregular individual. Thus, the name, The irregular at magic high school.

 

The anime is not only fun to watch but the protagonist is badass. If you like your Overpowered protagonist group then you should take a look at this amazing series.

And this time, we have a horror one. Oh yeah! Seems exciting right? Well, it is.

 

After all, it’s Ajin. Ajin is a 13-episode TV series that aired back in 2016.

 

The anime is adapted from a recognized manga. The manga was written and illustrated by Sakurai Gamon.

 

The story is about a mysterious species of humans known as ‘Ajin’. Ajins are immortal beings that just can’t be defeated.

 

They are not classified as humans and therefore, they are taken into custody right when they show up.

 

Like, for if they see Ajin, he is bound to be locked. My man Kei Nagai isn’t interested in Ajin.

 

He doesn’t have much knowledge on that subject although he wishes to be a doctor.

 

The very little information that he has is all thanks to the news. However, his ignorance toward Ajin turns out to be a nightmare.

 

Kei himself had the misfortune of being a part of an accident and rebirth as an Ajin.

 

Now since he is an Ajin now, he is bound to be under custody. Therefore, he fights with all his will to overcome this system and stay free.

 

However, as he tries to do so, he realizes that the people of his new kind aren’t as rare as he thinks.

 

If you are a fan of some good horror stuff that can put a scar on you then yeah, Ajin should be your watch.

 

It has somewhat of a similar narrative as Kabaneri of the iron fortress. So if you liked that, you would probably like this as well.

The web manga was written by Sandrovich Yabako and illustrated by Daromeon. The anime was animated by Larx Entertainment.

 

The story is set in the Edo period when the wealthy have a different approach.

 

You see, normally we use words to resolve problems among businesses and merchants. However, here at Kengan Ashura, that’s not the case.

 

Talk? We don’t do that here! In this world, solutions to disputes take place using Gladiators.

 

The stronger gladiator would be the one who would be favored. It’s not who is correct logically, but rather who is stronger.

 

In other words, strength makes the facts. Ouma Tokita is a gladiator trying to make his name.

 

He wishes to be the best and gets hired by Hideki Nogi. Nogi is a member of the Nogi group and appoints Tokita as his gladiator.

 

He also appoints Kazuo Yamashita as the manager for his work. Now together, this duo of Tokita and Kazuo fights others with the aid of the Kengan Association.

 

The question is, ‘Can They Be The Best?’. You have to see for yourself man.

 

Just like Baki, Kengan Ashura has amazing fights that would give you goosebumps all along.

 

Any action anime fan just can’t ignore this series.

If any of your friends or acquaintances ever call ‘Anime’ ‘Cartoon’, please show them this anime.

 

That’s right, we are going to talk about one of the best ecchi anime out there, High School DxD.

 

This 12-episode TV series aired back in 2012. It is an anime adaptation of a light novel.

 

The light novel was written and illustrated by Ishibumi Ichiei. The story is about Issei Hyodou who would seem like the King Of Perversion to us.

 

This man is the reincarnation of lust and loves nothing but females. His luck starts when he gets into a school where the number of boys is lower than the number of girls.

 

Issei and his friends consider this school, heaven and seek a harem for themselves. However, their attitude doesn’t allow them to have even a single girlfriend.

 

Luckily, Issei does end up getting a girl from another school. However, his luck runs out when that girl turns out to be a fallen angel and kills Issei.

 

She says that he has a ‘Weapon’ that needs to be disposed of. However, this is not where Issei’s story is ending.

 

He is then reincarnated in the same world as a devil. He is the same person other than the fact that he is now a demon.

 

This life-saving act was performed by the President of the Occult Research Club, Rias Gremory.

 

She enslaves Issei and recruits him into her peerage. Now the Gremory peerage performs tasks to aid humans and provide their services.

 

Issei becomes a part of that peerage and meets new girls every single time. A heaven for him.

 

However, why was Issei executed in the first place and what is that ‘Weapon’? Well, you have to find yourself.

 

High School DxD is a classic for the ecchi fans. Its fun and humorous tone is complemented well by its action and emotional drama.

 

If you like your ecchi and you haven’t watched High School DxD, you are missing out man!

Where are all the BL fans, I have a gift for you. The next anime on our list is one of the most loved BL anime of all time.

 

Free is a 12-episode TV series that aired back in 2013. It is an original anime directed by Utsumi Hiroko and animated by Kyoto Animation.

 

The story is about Haruka Nanase who loves water and has a passion for swimming.

 

In elementary school, Nanase took part in a swimming relay race and won with the help of Rin Matsuoka, Nagisa Hazuki, and Makoto Tachibana.

 

After. However, later on, these boys parted ways and didn’t meet again. That was until high school when our boys unite again.

 

But this union isn’t as optimistic as you think it would be. The thing is, Rin has started to envy Nanase and claims that he doesn’t want things to go back to what they used to.

 

He wants to defeat Nanase and prove that he is a better swimmer. This idea leaves a bitter mark on their reunion.

 

Now Nagisa, Makoto, and Nanase decide to form a swimming club. However, they need a 4th member to participate in competitions.

 

That is where Rei Ryuugazaki comes into play. He was a former member of the track club and Nagisa recruited him.

 

Now the club is formed and the boys are working hard to win. As they work hard and strive with one another, a strong brotherhood starts to develop.

 

Finally, they decide to win the championship and clear out everything between Rin and Nanase.

 

If you are into the boy’s love kind of stuff or you are just a normal sports anime fan, ‘Free’ could free your stress either way.

Yup, an important part of their curriculum is Gambling because of its unpredictable nature. Just like in real life, a lot of your actions lead you on a journey.

 

Whether that journey is good or not is secondary. What happens first is your gamble on a decision.

 

To understand such a gamble and to be prepared for the real world, the school promotes this activity.

 

If you are good at gambling, you are the king of this school. If you aren’t, you are pathetic.

 

That’s how it goes. However, significant changes occur when Yumeko Jabami joins this academy. She might seem like a normal high school girl but deep down, she is a hardcore gambler who fears no losses.

 

In this school where your bets decide your life, will Yumeko bring a stop to all the discrimination?

 

Or will she become a part of this system? This anime is popular, especially in the gambling setting.

The story is about the relationships between Shizuku Mizutani and Haru Yoshida. Let’s take a look at them individually.

 

First up, we have Shizuku. She is just your typical shy high school girl who lacks social interactions and only cares about studies.

 

Friendship or relationship is something that she can’t comprehend. However, the way she looks at high school changes once she meets Haru.

 

My man Haru is a vicious menace that stopped visiting school because of a fight.

 

Even though they both might seem different on the surface, they are alike concerning their social skills.

 

Funnily enough, Haru confesses to Shizuku during their meeting and they both get together. Now Shizuku, being the shy girl she is, is unable to understand the type of relationship she is in.

Never has she ever felt for anyone else except him. However, reality shocks her with the fact that Narumi is his homeroom teacher now.

 

The wound grows even wider when Hanabi realizes that Narumi also happens to be in a happy relationship with Akane Minagawa, the music teacher.

 

If we talk about Mugi, he has always looked at Akane with a heart in his eye.

What is Aincrad you may be thinking? Well, Aincrad is the Virtual Reality world my boy is stuck in.

 

Let me explain. The anime is set in 2022 when technology has reached new heights.

 

The advancements are not only amazing but seem somewhat unrealistic. However, they are indeed true.

 

One such advancement is ‘NerveGear’ technology. NerveGear tech allows you to control your character in a game using nothing but your mind.

 

Yup, just like in real life, you can control and command your entire body just by using your brain.

 

Seems interesting, doesn’t it? Well, my boy Kirito, a hardcore gamer, also felt super excited when he first started playing a game called Sword Art Online.

 

This game was an exclusive distribution and Kirito managed to get his hands on one of its copies.

 

However, upon logging in, to the world, he realized that he can’t log out or quit the game.

 

Truth hits him harder than a truck when he realizes that the creator of this game has tricked them (players) to stay in this game until they complete it.

 

The problem is, this world of Aincrad has multiple fights and conflicts going on. To complete the game, Kirito must survive through all 100 levels.

 

However, if he dies in this game, he would be dead in real life. That’s right!

 

His life depended upon that game and one wrong move can lead him to God.

 

Will Kirito be able to wake up alive? This anime made an impact when it first aired and people liked it a lot.

 

Being one of the recognized Isekais, Sword Art Online offers an interesting and attractive premise that any teenager would fall for.

Where are my street-fighter fanboys!!! I have just the right anime for you. Yup, it’s none other than the fearsome Baki.

 

Baki is 26-episode-long ONA series that hit the internet back in 2018. It is an anime adaptation of a manga done by TMS Entertainment.

 

The manga was written and illustrated by Itagaki Keisuke. The story is about a guy named Baki Hanma who wishes to defeat his father, Yuujirou.

 

Why you may ask? Well, that’s because Yuujirou is the Strongest Man In The World.

 

Therefore, Baki wants to ensure that he stands as the strongest. After completing an underground tournament that he won, he realizes that he just can’t rest now.

 

The guy who was the runner-up in that tournament warns Baki about danger. A danger that can break anyone.

 

Five death row inmates have escaped. These guys are no less than monsters as their strengths are unmatched.

 

The biggest problem is that Baki is recognized as the winner of the tournament. Therefore, all those monsters would be seeking him for the sake of experimenting with defeat!

 

How will Baki and the others come over to them? Well, you have to find out!

 

Baki is one of the most popular martial arts series of the year. The incredible and brutal action is appreciated by fans all around the globe.

 

If you love hand-to-hand combat and martial arts, Baki is the anime for you man.

This 5 episode ONA series was released exclusively on Netflix and the manga was written and illustrated by Oono Kousuke. The story is about a guy named Tatsu also known as ‘Immortal Tatsu’.

 

How did he get that name? Well, he was a Yokuza, and an incredibly strong one with that.

 

I know, not his name seems understandable. Anyway, my man Tatsu was a Yakuza who was feared by his rivals as well as the police.

 

Someone who was looked upon as the strongest Yakuza out there. However, one day, his existence was erased.

 

No, he wasn’t killed actually but rather, he disappeared. Later on, he showed up again to his acquaintances but this time, he is a bit different.

 

A bit too different. The Yakuza that feared the entire underworld is now a House Husband.

 

Yeah, a freaking househusband! But this stupidity just doesn’t stop here. Oh No No! His gangster background brings more trouble into his life than he already has.

 

Moreover, the act of slaughtering people is replaced with the act of slaughtering chickens for a tasty dish.

 

His new life is filled with daily life chores that may not seem to be much of a hitch but his criminal background just keeps the idiocy going!

 

I assume that you are one of those who likes to laugh. And if you do, I am certain that this anime would be a great watch for you this evening.
