However, this fun and craze were soon interrupted with the end of season 2 of the franchise and since then no new season has shown up yet.

Furuya Daisuke on the other hand has been responsible for the story of Kure-nai and Scared.
And lastly, illustrator Yamamoto Yamato’s performance can be witnessed in works like Denpa-Teki Na Kanojo, Gelatin, and also Kure-nai.
If we talk about WIT Studio, they are the kings of post-apocalyptic or ancient settings.
With fabulous shows like Attack On Titan and Vinland Saga under its sleeve, this studio is known as a force to be reckoned with.
If we talk about the director Tokudo Daisuke, he has been responsible for episode direction in popular anime like Banana Fish and Attack On Titan.
So we can be sure that our man knows his stuff. Well, that clears all the staff and stuff.
Let’s do a quick revision of the story of the series. Seraph Of The End is set on an Earth which was attacked by a deadly virus.
Initially, it is our normal planet with normal life but all of a sudden, an unknown virus makes its way to humanity and makes it go extinct.
Almost extinct. The thing is, this virus only proves to be deadly for humans over the age of 13 and thus, children survived this incident.
But these survivors aren’t free just yet. They are now in captivity by Vampires who were hiding in the shadows during the presence of humans.
But now that humanity is done for, Vampires made their way to the surface and gained control.
Amongst those children was Yuuichirou Amane (aka Yuu) who got settled in the Hyakuya orphan due to some family issues, right before the virus had spread.
After the virus incident, his entire orphanage and children within it were taken into captivity by Vampires including his best friend Mikaela Hyakuya (aka Mika).
Years have passed and a new society has formed where Vampires are the upper beings and they strive for the human blood of the ones they have captured.
For this trade, humans get shelter and food to strive for. It’s not a terrific deal but Yuu isn’t ready to accept his life like this.
He wants freedom and to reach out to the outside world where Vampires aren’t ruling humans.
His current family is his Hyakuya orphan members who were captured as well and he wishes for their freedom too.
Mika cares about Yuu and his family so he decides to find a way to escape this horrendous world.
However, fate doesn’t allow them to do so since the escape failed miserably. When Yuu, Mika, and other members try to escape, they are caught by Ferid Bathory who ends up killing the entire family.
Luckily, Yuu manages to escape the location but his loved ones are not fortunate enough.
Raging with anger and pain, Yuu swears to kill all of those vampires that have made his life hell.
And to his surprise, he isn’t alone. Turns out that the virus didn’t kill the entire humanity and a few adults survived the situation.
These survivors who weren’t captured by the Vampires decided to take their planet back by using dark magical powers.
One of the leading companies in this activity is the Moon Demon Company which approached Yuu for his support.
Now Yuu has joined the group and is looking forward to fulfilling his dream. The dream of the death of all those filthy vampires and avenging his family’s murder.

Well, we have run out of luck, weebs because there haven’t been any announcements regarding the release of Seraph at the end of season 3. Some hopeful fans speculate that it might come around late 2023.
No trailers, teasers, or announcements. We haven’t got any sort of information from the folks over at Studio WIT.
There haven’t been any statements passed on by author Kagami Takaya or anyone else involved in the series.

As I mentioned earlier, Owari No Seraph is an anime adaptation of a manga written by Kagami Takaya and Furuya Daisuke and illustrated by Yamamoto Yamato.
Amongst these creators, Kagami Takaya is the most significant individual as he is the one who contributed the most to the series.
Speaking of the manga, it started publishing back on September 3, 2012, and is said to be going on to this day.
It is serialized in Jump SQ with genres of action, supernatural, vampire, drama, and shounen listed to it.
And even though it is listed as ‘Shounen’, a lot of appreciation for this series comes from the females in the anime community.
Speaking of appreciation, the series gained a lot of love and admiration from fans which resulted in the anime adaptation taking place.
The first season adapted the first 15 chapters of the manga (4 Volumes). Whereas the second season adapted the next 26 chapters, thus ending in chapter 41 (volume 11).
And this is where things get interesting. You see, the second season of the anime was adapted till chapter 41 of the manga.
That chapter was released in Japan on January 4, 2016. Keep this date in mind because the second season of the anime aired from Oct 10, 2015, to Dec 26, 2015.
If you notice something, the adapted chapter was serialized 8 days after the anime ended. And that is why the ending of the anime and the ending of chapter 41 don’t match.
Yup, the ending of season 2 in the anime is different from the ending in Manga.
And what’s the change you may ask? Well, it’s the fact that Yuu is still a full demon in the manga whereas, in the anime, he becomes a human again.
It is said that Kagami wrote a separate ending just for the anime and so the series appears to divert a bit from its source material here.
Now returning to the date when the manga chapter was released. January 4, 2016, is when the final adapted chapter was released and at this point, the anime is already ahead of the manga.
And if an anime catches up to the manga, it starts getting fillers so that the manga can move ahead and create more content to adapt.
However, Seraph Of The End doesn’t have any fillers so that is the reason why we haven’t got a sequel yet.
That’s right ladies and gentlemen, the core reason why we haven’t got another season of Owari No Seraph just yet is that the anime caught up to the manga and so the manga required time to create enough content for another instalment.
And it’s been over half a decade since that event so the manga has enough chapters for the next season to take place.

Now we are going to discuss the most important aspect of anime production, SALES. It’s common sense by now that if an anime doesn’t sell well, it will most likely NOT get another season.
So if we want to know about Seraph Of The End Season 3, this is the segment for it.
If it doesn’t perform well here, it is game over. Let’s have a look.

The average record of 100k copies up till volume 18, dropped to 90k for volume 19.

But to be fair, if the creators want to make another season, the sales up until volume 18 would be more than enough for the same.

Overall, we can say that anime could be made if the creators want it.
However, for now, these numbers aren’t good enough that they would take place. So this is the red flag that can stop the next season from happening.

Now let’s say that WIT Studio decides to make a sequel for this series. If they do so, who will be featured in it?
Which of our favourite characters would return? Let’s have a look.
Yuu
Our protagonists and lead boy Yuuichirou aka Yuu will make a return for sure. He is the one who swore to destroy the vampires forever but he hasn’t been able to do that yet.
We would love to see him do what he wishes to do, as always, and destroy the entire vampire civilization!
Shinoa
She is the sweetheart of the show that needs to return no matter what. Being from the Hiiragi family, she is bound to be important in the storyline later on.
And it would be great to see her chemistry with Yuu and other characters.
Mika
My man Mika got turned into a vampire and had his brainwashed by those filthy creatures.
His reunion with Yuu and his gang gave the story a massive turn and his contributions in the upcoming season would be massive.
Bet me on that one. I am looking forward to him getting back to his senses and joining humanity again.
Gurren
Our gang’s boss Gurren is yet another admired character that is looked upon by many as the best from the series.
His change in attitude during the second season was heartbreaking but he had his reasons and things seem to be at a place, at least for now.
Let’s see how his character goes in the future and the upcoming seasons. Other characters like Mitsuba, Yoichi, Kimizuki, and Ferid are bound to be in the next season as well.
Their character arcs aren’t over yet and we need more of them doing their stuff.

If the ending of Owari No Seraph had an opening for the next one, then it would be great news for us fans.
And in the case of this series, that’s a plus point. If you remember correctly, the second season ended with Yuu becoming a demon but reaching back to his human form thanks to his gang, and his family.
Later on, Kureto’s plan turned out to be a failure, and he got separated from the Moon Demon Company.
A lot of damage took place and things went out of control. Luckily, Yuu, in his demon form took care for the most part, and later on, the vampires stopped the situation from getting.
Now Yuu, Mika, and their new family are on the task of finding freedom in this world and wish to rescue Mirai and Gurren from Sanguinum, the place that was taken over by the Japanese Imperial Demon Army.
With that, the series ended, and as you can see, this is a cliffhanger that can be used for the next season.
So there wouldn’t be any problem for another season to show up.
Controversy Around Seraph Of The End
If an anime has a major controversy revolving around it, then the chances for its sequel would decrease massively.
Luckily for Owari No Seraph, that’s not a problem because there isn’t any major controversy.
However, as explained earlier, the fact that the manga and anime had different endings can be a hurdle in the making of the sequel.
The fact that they resolved to change instead of having the same ending as the manga proves that the staff had something else in their mind.
Possibly, they were experimenting and hoping that if the second season performs successfully, they will rectify this ending with the next season.
But that created a controversy amongst fans about whether the staff would consider the series now.
Many claim that they wanted to make a sequel, but they would have made it by now since over 100 chapters are out and they only need 20.
