1. Dragon Ball

The narrative revolves around a solitary young boy, Goku Son, who lives in the woods until he meets Bulma, a girl searching for the “Dragon Balls,” a collection of magical objects with the ability to grant one wish to their possessor.

Bulma aims to use the Dragon Balls to wish for a perfect boyfriend, but Goku already has one of them and refuses to relinquish it. In exchange for the use of the dragon ball’s power, Bulma proposes a deal for Goku to join her on her journey.

And thus, we get to experience the first-ever Dragon Ball story of our lives.

2. Dragon Ball Z

After winning the World Martial Arts tournament five years prior, Goku is now living peacefully with his wife and son. This serenity is disrupted by the sudden appearance of Raditz, a mysterious enemy who claims to be Goku’s long-lost brother.

Raditz reveals Goku’s true origins, that he hails from the Saiyan race, a once-powerful but almost extinct group. Raditz tries to enlist Goku as an ally, but he refuses, prompting Raditz to warn Goku’s friends of a looming peril that could trigger an intergalactic war and shake the heavens themselves.

3. Dragon Ball GT

After years of relentless searching, Emperor Pilaf finally manages to obtain the Black Star Dragon Balls, rumoured to be twice as potent as the regular Earth Dragon Balls. He aims to use them for world domination but is foiled by Goku Son’s sudden arrival.

Pilaf accidentally turns Goku into a child and now he is supposed to save the world by collecting all the Black Star Dragon Balls yet again. Therefore, he decides to team up with his granddaughter and young Trunks in order to save their loved ones.

However, the battle is going to be a lot more intimidating than what meets the eye.

4. Dragon Ball Kai

Dragon Ball Kai takes place five years after the events of Dragon Ball and follows Goku, who is now married to Chi-Chi and has a son named Gohan. While attending a reunion, an alien named Raditz reveals Goku’s past and kidnaps Gohan.

Goku teams up with his former rival, Piccolo, to rescue his son. The duo learns of the seven mystical Dragon Balls and their wish-granting abilities but also discovers that there are more members of Raditz’s race, the Saiyans, who seek to obtain the power of the Dragon Balls.

5. Dragon Ball Kai: The Final Chapters

Dragon Ball Kai: The Final Chapters is a series that was supposed to be a remastered version of the original Majin Buu saga in Dragon Ball Kai. It is also known as Dragon Ball Kai (2014) and happens to follow a story that is much closer to the one placed in the original manga.

6. Dragon Ball Super

Earth enjoys seven years of tranquillity until Beerus, the God of Destruction, is awakened from his sleep and seeks out the “Super Saiyan God” who will defeat him, accompanied by his attendant Whis.

Beerus and Whis travel the universe in search of this powerful entity, eventually encountering Goku Son and his powerful friends on Earth, putting the planet in grave danger. Goku will be taking a closer look at his history with the intent of finding the legendary Super Saiyan transformation strong enough to stop Beerus.

However, getting to that level will be a challenge.

7. Super Dragon Ball Heroes

In May 2018, V-Jump announced that Dragon Ball Heroes, a Japanese arcade and trading card game, would receive a promotional anime. The game was adapted into a Nintendo Switch port for western audiences and the card game was released as “Dragon Ball Super TCG,” combined with its Japanese counterpart.

The anime, expected to be brief and not airing on TV, adapts the Prison Planet Arc from the game and two original manga arcs, “Big Bang Mission” and “Ultra God Mission,” published in Saikyou Jump under separate canons.

The first episode premiered on July 1, 2018, at Aeon Lake Town, but these arcs have not been officially released in English.
