Barbie Movies In Order [Chronological Watch Order]

Barbie Movies Watch Order

It is always said that the ones who first started ruling the earth were not humans but fairies. And that’s what we have seen with all the Barbie movies, where different Barbies or fairies came under the appearance of mermaids, butterflies, rainbows, and crystals.

In these movies, many themes were glorified, like natural predators in Mariposa or caring for the natural environment in Fairytopia: Mermaidia. By then, these movies had definitely evolved, with different characters and different storylines.

Exactly why it tugs at our heartstrings with a sense of nostalgia, it kicks off in an era reminiscent of the middle ages, echoing the classic vibes of Swan Lake, and then catapults us into a realm that’s futuristic, akin to Starlight.

In the midst of a sea of movie releases, this series offers a unique pause in its storytelling. What sets apart the release order from the viewing order is the way the narrative unfolds, how the events are sequenced, and how the story progresses through various timelines.

The best part is that you can enjoy all these instalments, all thanks to the chronological order. And this chronological order starts with the 2005 release of Barbie: Fairytopia.

Barbie: Mermaid Power (2022)

Not just only three sisters but the past few Barbie characters reunite for this film. It goes with Barbie Malibu Roberts, Barbie Brooklyn, three sisters (Chelsea, Skipper, and Stacie), and mermaid Isla.

It became one of the last in watch order because of the amalgamation of characters and some events. While all these characters decided to change themselves to protect or help the Mermaid named Isla, they also deal with competition.

It also goes with 6 other mermaid characters who will protect the world with the help of 4 elements that are fire, air, water, and land. Marlo of Dolphin Magic also returns in the story to continue her journey from where she left the last time, which is to prove the existence of mermaids.

The last one coming in the watch order as well as the release order is Barbie: Mermaid Power. It reprises the roles of Barbie Malibu Roberts and Barbie Brooklyn Roberts, whom we met in Mermaid Power when they go cross-country and their adventures with other friends.

At the same time, it also deals with a great future event that will depend upon the decision-making of all the Barbies present in the story. Coming to direction, then, Conrad Helten comes again to the seat with Aury Wallington as the writer.

The film premiered on Netflix on October 25, 2022; thus, one can easily access it through the same platform.
