Set one year after the events of the original Stargate film, “Stargate SG-1” is a science fiction series that revolves around SG-1, a military team from Earth. Their expeditions to distant planets are made possible through the Stargate, an alien portal housed in the secretive Stargate Command military base.

With the goal of defending Earth against the parasitic Goa’uld aliens, SG-1 and other teams explore the galaxy, seeking advanced technology and forging alliances. The series unveils a backstory where the Goa’uld enslaved humans taken from Earth, masquerading as gods from ancient mythologies.

In subsequent seasons, the Ori, a faction of the Ancients, become the primary adversaries, using religious indoctrination to conquer other species.

Alongside other teams, they venture into the Pegasus Galaxy through an ancient device called the Stargate, constructed by the advanced human race known as the Ancients.

Operating from the submerged Lost City of Atlantis on the planet “Lantea,” the expedition uncovers the remnants of the Ancients’ civilization. The Ancients, compelled by a devastating plague in the Milky Way Galaxy, sought refuge in Pegasus millions of years ago.

There, they cultivated life on numerous worlds, similar to their actions on Earth. However, their existence was plagued by a formidable adversary, the Wraith, leading to a century-long war and the eventual submersion of Atlantis, giving rise to the mythical tales of the Lost City of Atlantis.

SG-1 members vanish and find themselves in this new reality. A year later, Ba’al returns as a powerful conqueror with control over the System Lords. SG-1 is called back to action and tasked with retrieving a crucial artefact to protect Earth.

As they face threats and betrayal, they must navigate dangerous missions and time travel to save their world. The restored timeline brings SG-1 back together, but lingering questions remain about Ba’al’s cryptic fail-safe.

Ra interferes, capturing Catherine and her father while brainwashing Wasif and his companion. Beal sacrifices himself to send Catherine and her father back to Earth.
