1. Warner Bros, Pictures

It was founded in 1923 by four brothers Harry, Jack, Albert, and Sam Warner. The pioneer production of the studio starred a famous German star that led to huge profit and success. Their success stories continued with the Gangster movies “The Public Enemy” and “Little Caesar” released in 1931. The animation characters of Warner Brothers include Duffy Duck and Bugs Bunny are still a delight for the kids. 2. Columbia Pictures

Originally formed as Cohn-Brandt-Cohn or CBC Film Sales Corporation in 1918, the founding members were Joe Brandt and the two brothers Harry Cohn and Joe Cohn. It became Columbia Pictures in 1924. The successful collaboration with the famous director Frank Capra showed the way to success for this production house. During the ‘30s, the famous stars of the studio included Cary Grant, Jean Arthur later followed by Rita Hayworth, Rosalind Russell, William Holden, Glenn Ford. It has attained almost an immortal state with the creation of the legendary Mickey Mouse series. Some of the well-known productions of the studio include “The Blue Lagoon”, “Foolin’ Around”, “Happy Birthday to Me”, “Hollow Man”, etc.

3. 20th Century Fox Inc.

A subsidiary of The Walt Disney Studios and a division of The Walt Disney Company, it was originally founded as Twentieth Century Fox Fim Corporation or just 20th Century Fox. It is one of the ruling studios of the Hollywood film industry for over the past eight decades. News Corporation acquired it in 1985 which was later succeeded as 21st Century Fox. Some of the most well-known and profit-making productions of the studio include the Die Hard series, “The Fly”, “Home Alone”, “Independence Day”, “ X-Men”, “Behind Enemy Lines”, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”, “Maze Runner”, “Avatar”, “Titanic”, the Star Wars series, “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs”, the list is endless.

4. Universal Pictures

A member of the Motion Picture Association, Universal Pictures is the oldest functioning studio and production house of the Hollywood industry. It is also the oldest member of the “Big Five” studios concerning the entire film market. This studio started its journey in 1912 with its headquarters situated in California. Some of the famous productions of Universal Pictures are “Jurassic Park”, “Jurassic World”, “Jaws”, “Fast and Furious 8”, “Shrek”, “ET”, “Jurassic World: the Fallen Kingdom”, “Psycho”, “Pride and Prejudice”, etc.

5. Walt Disney Studios

Beginning its journey in 1923, Walt Disney Studios is one of the 4 principal segments of The Walt Disney Company. Among the “Big Five” famous film studios, this the fourth oldest. Walt Disney bags the record of producing 10 all-time highest-grossing films of the world along with 2 highest-grossing film franchises of all time. This studio pioneered with the animated film “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”. It took 3 years to complete which became a huge success after its release in 1939. Other significant productions include “The Reluctant Dragon”, “Seal Island”, True-Life Adventure series, “Fantasia”, “Mission to Mars”, “Shanghai Noon”, “Pearl Harbour”, “The Princess Diaries”, “Snow Dogs”, “Finding Nemo”, “National Treasure”, etc.
