2. Zero (Code Geass)

Zero (Code Geass)

Zero aka Lelouch is the main character of the Code Geass anime series. However, the reason why he resolved on the idea of using a masked identity was to be secure about his identity and have a public persona.

As many of you might know, Lelouch is a strategist and a manipulator who can take advantage of anyone and everyone without breaking a sweat.

And that’s not all. This man is going to bring some real difference in the minds of the viewers with his Zero persona which is led by nothing but a man behind a mask.

This is why his face is often seen with that mask. It is said that beneath the star shape, there’s also a moon-shaped mask that hides his face even further.

It’s a completely blank mask with only one facial feature, a mouth. And this mouth is what makes his mask so intimidating in the first place.

Because the mouth is nothing but a drawing of lips and a bunch of teeth. There’s a reason why his presence makes it so difficult for the audience to retain the positive vibe that the series pushes a few times.

Although considering that he is from Tokyo Ghoul, his design does make a lot of sense.

Zabuza Momochi (Naruto)

Zabuza was probably the first villain that made all of us sweat our hearts out. After all, this man was good enough to make Kakashi look like a normal fighter.

His mask seeks to be nothing but a white cloth wrapped around his face. And he can speak through that cloth.

The reason why he wears that mask is not mentioned explicitly in the series. However, his appearance does seem to be a bit more intimidating without the mask.

Her mask is purple and only covers up her eyes with space for the eyelids. However, the overall change in appearance that this said mask offers is absolutely brilliant.

This is why Midnight is a force to be reckoned with, in the realm of My Hero Academia. She is just capturing to a completely new degree.

41. Sabito (Demon Slayer)

Sabito (Demon Slayer)

Sabito. Whether he was real or not is a question on its own. However, being one of Urokodaki’s students, my man always had a mask on his face.

This boy challenged Tanjiro to cut the rock in half. And that’s where his character gained so much importance.

Although he wasn’t real and it is often implied that he was nothing other than the spirit of the real Sabito, it doesn’t change the fact that he did help Tanjiro to become what he is today.

He doesn’t wear it just for the sake of it. Instead, his mask allows him to safeguard his face from anyone who might recognize him.

And that’s why this man holds so much importance in the anime. However, that’s just the beginning of the series.

46. Stain (My Hero Academia)

Stain (My Hero Academia)

Stain was so important in the anime that people always lost their minds over him. He was the one who pushed the idea that Heroes are not real in the contemporary world.

He seems aggressive and that mask on his face makes him even more intimidating. It makes him look like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.
