Quasimodo is one of the saddest Disney cartoon characters from the literary work of Victor Hugo’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Quasimodo was born with birth defects and deformities that made him appear unseemly. Claude Frollo had him imprisoned in the dark bell tower, away from the lively Parisian life.

Quasi would be considered a lonely existence if not for the friendship, care, and affection of the stone Gargoyles, Victor, Hugo, and Laverne.

They live in the church of Notre Dame and console Quasi during his sad days, support him when he is scared and advise him when he is conflicted.

They are the true epitomes of a rock-solid bond of friendship.

Robin Hood and Little John (Disney's Robin Hood)

The story of Robin Hood, the prince of thieves is a popular and legendary tale of a thief with a golden heart.

The original story was penned in 1880, but Disney created the animated film of the story in 1973 using animals as the character.

The main plot remained the same, with Robin Hood and Little John working together as gentleman robbers. In the tale of Robin Hood, the friendship between Robin Hood and Little John is famous.

They both share the same zeal and goal of helping the poor, saving and protecting the innocents, and fighting against the tyranny of the Sheriff of Nottingham.

John and Robin make all the hurdles seem adventurous with their constant ribbing of each other. Their light-hearted banter shows the camaraderie and respect they share.

Anne Boonchuy is a thirteen-year-old girl who finds a calamity box and opens it with her friends. They all get sucked into a fantasy world of Amphibia where frog people exist.

Alya and Marinette (Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir)

Alya Césaire and Marinette Dupain-Cheng are best friends and students at Françoise Dupont High School. Marinetta is the superhero Ladybug, and she fights evil in Paris using this identity.

At one point in time, Alya also attains the Fox Miraculous to transform into Rena Rouge. However, Alya is unaware of Marinetta’s identity as LadyBug.

For the most part of the series, Alya is a strong supporter of Marinetta, and she encourages her to speak to Adrien.

Marinetta is a shy, clumsy, and joyful girl who gets tongue-tied in front of Adrien. So, Alya is there to push her forward and encourage her to be more confident.

Alya aspires to be a journalist and closely follows and admires Ladybug for all her exploits.

Mordecai and Rigby (Regular Show)

Regular Show was an animated sitcom that aired between 2010 and 2017 on Cartoon Network. The plot revolves around two best friends Mordecai and Rigby, who work in a park as groundskeepers.

They are a lazy duo who shirk their job and spend their time with weird, idle banter. Mordecai is a bluejay, and Rigby is a raccoon, and they hate work.

They spend time playfully insulting each other, calling each other names, and getting into all kinds of absurd trouble.

They appear to be unlikeable but they also share a special bond that stems from their inane and mindless banter.

Despite all their insults, they care for each other and have each other’s backs.

43. Ben and Gwen (Ben 10)

Ben and Gwen (Ben 10)

Ben Tennyson and Gwen Tennyson are best friends from the cartoon series Ben 10. The show followed the exploits of Ben, who discovers the superpowers hidden in the Omnitrix.

This alien technology offers him superpowers, and he uses this to fight bad guys. Helping him in his fight is his cousin and best friend, Gwen Tennyson.

Ben is a childish, immature, and arrogant kid who uses his wit to cover up his fears, shortcomings, etc.

Once he discovers the superpowers, he becomes a hero fighting to save the good guys. Gwen, on the other hand, is a smart mouth who is always ready with a comeback for Ben.

She is intelligent and mature and often becomes the voice of reason to rein in Ben’s brashness. Together they make a great crime fighter with the right mix of bravery, kindness, maturity, etc.

44. Big Dog & Little Dog (2 Stupid Dogs)

Big Dog & Little Dog (2 Stupid Dogs)

2 Stupid Dogs is a cartoon series from the 90s that was telecast on TBS before it was added to broadcast syndication.

The series was about two dogs called The Big Dog and The Little Dog. Big Dog is an English sheepdog with gray fur and a purple nose, whereas Little Dog is a tawny dachshund.

They were often portrayed as stupid dogs that got mixed up in misadventures all day long. However, Big Dog was a more aloof and lazy dog who could not be bothered to react.

He displayed bouts of philosophical intelligence. Little Dog was scared of cats, but he was an energetic and friendly dog.

He was the antithesis of Big Dog. They each helped and protected the other through all their mishaps and adventures.

45. Blossom, Bubbles, & Buttercup (The Powerpuff Girls)

Blossom, Bubbles, & Buttercup (The Powerpuff Girls)

The Powerpuff Girls are a trio of superhumans that were created in a lab with sugar, spice, and everything nice.

However, a mystery chemical, X, was added accidentally, creating little girls with superpowers. These little girls are as different as chalk and cheese, but they are united in their fight against evil to save Townsville.

Blossom is the undeclared leader of the group, and she has reddish-pink hair, pink eyes, and a pink dress.

She is controlling and likes to command people. Bubbles is the joyful sweetheart with blond hair, blue eyes, and a blue dress.

She likes playing with colors and is a kind and caring child. Buttercup is a strong fighter with black hair, green eyes, and a green dress.

She is a tomboy who likes to pick fights and beat up people.

46. Huey, Dewey, and Louie (DuckTales)

Huey, Dewey, and Louie (DuckTales)

Huey, Dewey, and Louie are technically not friends; they are triplets. However, they are like a group of best friends who work together to prank their uncle Donald Duck.

The three ducklings are consummate pranksters who will go to any extent to prank the opposite person. However, it is only fun when we are not the targets.

Huey is the duckling in red, Dewey is the one in blue, and Louie is in green. They have some distinct characteristics, like Huey being the more responsible of the three, Dewey being the most individualistic, and Louie being the laziest.

Yet, they are also similar in their attitude toward mischief.

47. Fry & Bender (Futurama)

Fry & Bender (Futurama)

Philip J. Fry and Bender Bending Rodriguez could be called best friends, and I say ‘could be’ because some of their fights are borderline disturbing.

On one occasion, when Fry was asleep, Bender secretly had his kidney removed to be sold for money. Fry decided to become roommates with Bender as soon as he woke up from his cryostasis, and they have been friends ever since.

As much as they fight, both have a similar sense of humor and like to mock enlightened or pseudo-enlightened people.

Fry once broke into a monastery to steam their telescope to search for Bender when he was kidnapped.

48. Chip & Dale (Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers)

Chip & Dale (Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers)

Chip and Dale are two chipmunks from the animated show Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers. They were introduced for the first time as a short in the Mickey mouse animated series, but soon with their popularity, they were given their own show in which they played detectives.

Chip is the more serious logical-brained chipmunk in the duo. He is very work-minded and rational and has no funny bones.

To counter Chip, we have Dale, who is the goofy one. He is the party animal who likes to flirt and play pranks all day.

His casual attitude gets on Chip’s last nerve, but it is needed to ensure Chip does not turn into a machine.

49. Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble (The Flintstones)

Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble (The Flintstones)

Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble are friends from the Hanna-Barbera animated show The Flintstones. They are both neighbors in the pre-historic town of Bedrock.

Their families are best friends too and handle all the issues, joys, and sorrows together. Fred and Barney work at the same place and live in the same neighborhood.

But the similarity ends here as Fred Flintstone is an impulsive, hot-headed, fun-loving, party animal, and Barney Rubble is a soft-spoken, cautious, patient, understanding, and non-confrontational person.

They both balance each other and cover up the other’s shortcomings.

50. Elroy & Astro (The Jetsons)

Elroy & Astro (Jetsons)

Elroy Jetson and Astro are not your typical best friends as Astro is the pet dog of the family, and Elroy is the youngest child.

Yet, I have included this pair in the list as Astro, the dog, behaves like a pet with George Jetson and showers him with all the doggy antics.

However, between the two of them, Elroy and Astro are like friends or brothers-in-arms. They prank their sister Judy, steal treats from Jane Jetson, hide each other’s mischiefs, etc.

When either of them wants an extra allowance or toy, they both beg on behalf of the other in front of George.

Astro also helps Elroy take revenge on his school bullies.
