BrocK Peters was born as George Fisher to Senegalese parents. From the age of 10, Peters was interested in show business and learned to sing and play the violin.

Avery Brooks himself was the first Black man to earn a Master's degree in fine arts from Rutgers University.

Yaphet Kotto was born Frederick Samuel Kotto, and he changed it to reflect his father’s name. Yaphet Kotto was interested in acting from the age of 15 years.

He worked in the Actors Mobile Theater Studio and performed Shakespearean plays. Later, he joined the Actors Studio in New York.

Robert Ray Wisdom is an American actor. His parents were Jamaican immigrants, and Wisdom was a track and field star in high school.

He graduated from Columbia University before following his dream to act. Robert Wisdom starred in the  HBO series, The Wire as  Howard "Bunny" Colvin.
