He was saved by a girl named Nino and that's how he was indebted to her. At the end of the series, Nino tells Kou to love her back while Kou realized that this place is full of weird people as all the people are living under the bridge.

In the end, Rin wins the race. The series further develops when Nagisa decides to get Makoto and Haruka swimming again.

Due to this reason, the boy was not able to have real friendships or initiate any kind of social skills.

 

He becomes anxious and due to this he is unable to breathe and becomes stoic. The other character named Haru, from the island Enoshima, comes into the story and lives in the same house as Yuki and his grandmother.

 

The grandmother agrees to live with him but under a condition that was not disclosed.
