Even as a police officer, Mai continues to encounter a cruel world. The nature of her profession exposes her to constant criticism from discontented citizens.

Weary from the relentless hostility, she makes the decision to resign just a few months into her employment.

However, on the very day, she plans to tender her resignation, she crosses paths with Seiko Fuji, a former star of the Criminal Affairs Division who becomes her new instructor.

Enthralled by Seiko's captivating presence, Mai postpones her departure, giving her lacklustre job a second chance.
