Where To Watch Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest In Canada?
Top 36 Most Popular Big Nose Cartoon Characters
Shivam-Posted May 27, 2023
A variety of animated shows and characters have formed a big part of our childhood and have held a special spot in our hearts for far too long. Unlike the kids today, we have grown up watching television or playing outdoor games since the era of the internet and smartphones had not taken the world by storm at the time.
This is probably why we carry relatively more knowledge about a variety of cartoons and continue to relate to them in a lot of ways even today. There's no denying the fact that cartoons are loveable characters whose look and feel ends up making us want to connect to them in a major way.
Indeed, a few of them have managed to strike a chord with us because of their distinctive facial features. While some have big eyes and noses, others tend to have big mouths.
Needless to say, plenty of well-known cartoon characters have been exaggerated to make them more visually distinct and memorable and, ultimately, find a perpetual place in our hearts. So, today, we are going to fetch you a list of characters with big noses that have gone on to become an icon in their own right.
36. Asterix (Asterix: The Secret of the Magic Potion)
Asterix may be tiny but he is also a fearless Gaulish Warrior who doesn't really shy away from readying himself for new escapades. He hails from a village in northwest Armorica that is in proximity of the vast and deep ocean.
While he likes going on exotic missions, he probably feels much at home when he is chaperoned by his clumsy but strong pal Obelix.
35. Dr Heinz Doofenshmirtz (Phineas and Ferb)
Known for his big and prominent nose, this evil scientist from Phineas and Ferb is often seen making plans on how to capture the city and, therefore, invents things accordingly.
Unfortunately for him, none of his plans works in the end because Perry the Platypus ends up coming to the city's rescue. Even if he is cunning and slightly wicked, he is also someone who is both comical and loving towards his daughter.
Like the titular characters on the show, he has a long and sharp nose that is shaped like a knife.
34. Dick Dastardly (Wacky Races)
Make way for the villainous and pompous Dick Dastardly who enjoys causing problems to others. Known for his big nose and moustache, he is someone who becomes manic when his plans fail to materialize.
He can be seen playing a part in a number of animated series bankrolled by Hanna Barbera Productions over time. What's interesting about him is that he's appeared in different roles in each one of them, including a race driver.
It is easy to gauge what his favourite outfit may be since he is usually seen wearing a blue overcoat with red gloves.
33. Pearl (Steven Universe)
Pearl from Steven Universe is a perfectionist who believes in taking charge in a battle. That is perhaps why she's gone on to become an integral part of a group of magical alien beings called the Crystal Gems.
Along with others in the team, she does her best to protect planet Earth from various perils. The girl can be seen using her proficiency in sword-fighting to defend her pals and loved ones as well.
However, what also makes her stand out in her show is her distinctive nose, which is pointed and angular. Well, believe it or not, there is a possibility that she owes her big nose to the fact that she has a bit of a superiority complex.
32. Gargamel (The Smurfs)
The Smurfs might come off as endearing to some but there is an evil wizard with a big nose who'd like nothing more than to gobble them up after having captured them.
Enter the wicked Gargamel, who also goes a step ahead and tries to turn them into gold for his benefit. Yes, we can't deny that he isn't really exuding a positive vibe here, but trust us when we state that he has also been portrayed as a sympathetic character in the series from time to time.
Of course, the reason he manages to make it to our story is that he has a large, long hooked nose, which happens to be exaggerated in size and shape.
31. Flint Lockwood (Cloudy with the Chance of Meatballs)
First things first, we'd like to give full marks to this optimistic young inventor who dreams of making the world a better place by creating something that can end up filling people's lives with a ton of joy.
Sure, he's smart and capable enough of doing that, but he can also be a bit gauche at times. Therefore, a lot of what he does is misunderstood by the people in the small town of Swallow Falls.
Flint Lockwood lives with his father, who, even though is supportive of his inventions, worries quite a bit about his well-being. Characterized by his stark blue eyes and oversized nose and head, he can be seen developing a rather creative machine that has the astounding ability to turn water into food.
Unfortunately for the guy, the machine malfunctions later in the story and ends up preparing food that starts pouring down on the town. Needless to say, Flint takes the onus on himself to save his town.
30. Stan (Gravity Falls)
Dipper and Mabel Pines' great uncle and summer guardian Stanley Pines, aka Grunkle Stan, can be seen attempting to exploit the naiveness of the "dumbest people in the world" by running a suspicious tourist trap called the Mystery Shack, situated in the remote town of Gravity Falls, Oregon.
Needless to mention, he does not exactly turn out to be the ideal role model to Dipper and Mabel. We also say so because he makes them paint fake dollars and other illegal stuff from time to time.
Be that as it may, nobody can deny that he's looked up to by many in other areas. Therefore, do not be surprised to see some people consider him a man of integrity and his words.
Add to that the fact that his determination allows him to ace complex science and multiple languages over time. As we can all see, Stan has a large, pear-shaped, bumpy, reddish-pinkish nose.
29. Mr Wilson (Dennis the Menace)
George Wilson, who is the grouchy neighbour of Dennis Mitchell the Menace, is often perturbed by Dennis's pranks. However, as viewers, we can clearly see that the man is a special place for the boy in his heart.
That is perhaps why he ends up being a mentor to him when he thinks that he may need him. That said, this retired postal carrier is still not lucky enough to distance himself from the pranks played by Dennis; for we catch his hope of living a relaxed life getting interrupted by the lad often during the series.
He is characterized by his distinctively large nose that is the most prominent feature of his physical appearance.
28. The Beast (The Beauty and the Beast)
Since he is named Beast, it is obvious that he would have a scary appearance; one that is characterized by his long mane and big nose. If you notice carefully, you'll be able to deduce that the nose is that of a lion.
The Beast owes his scary appearance to an unfortunate curse that was imposed upon him years ago. He can transform into a human again if a girl that he truly loves ends up kissing him and setting him free.
As the story progresses, we find Beauty finding success in turning him into his human form.
27. The Evil Queen (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs)
We all are duly aware of the fact that The Evil Queen wants to be the most gorgeous lady in the world. But, the extent to which she goes to achieve godly magnificence is what truly shocks the viewers during the film's runtime.
Sooner than later, we see how it becomes difficult for her to tolerate anyone who she thinks might be more beautiful than her. All hells break loose when she realises that Snow White has managed to surpass her beauty.
Therefore, we see her taking the disguise of an old lady with a frightening face that has a big nose and mole. Needless to say, it is an appearance that can manage to creep you out rather easily.
26. Lois Griffin (Family Guy)
This long-suffering wife of Peter Griffin is the one who takes care of her beloved family and serves as a piano teacher whenever she has the time for it. Those who have seen the show would acknowledge that she is one of the few sane voices on it.
However, don't trust her on her face value for she has a ton of dark secrets to hide. In fact, you'd be surprised to learn that the dark shades in her character are slowly but steadily revealed in different episodes of Family Guy.
A daughter of an affluent businessman, she is shown to have chanced upon her future husband while he was working for her aunt. Lois, who never intended to be a mother, is often shown to be critical of Meg.
But, she also comes to her aid when she feels that she genuinely needs her suggestions and support. Lois showing two sides to her persona in the show is one of its most brilliant aspects, to be honest.
25. Lilo (Lilo & Stitch)
The short and chubby Lilo is a Hawaiian brunette girl who befriends an alien creature named Stitch and makes it a point to help him learn about life on Earth.
Besides her likeable personality, she is known for her almond-shaped brown eyes and big nose, which becomes the centre of attention in one of the sequences in the motion picture.
In one of the scenes, we catch Lilo wiggling her nose while helping Stitch learn some moves of the hula. The entire sequence is hilarious, to say the least.
24. Hugh Neutron (The Jimmy Neutron Franchise)
Hugh is Jimmy Neutron's beloved father who often comes across as a clueless and dim-witted man. While his grave obsession with ducks and pies knows no bounds, he is also someone who ends up causing trouble to one and all after he starts toying with his son's inventions.
As fickle-minded as he may be, he believes in fulfilling his duties as a doting father. We say so because he cares about his son and tries to counsel him the best he can.
Having said that, his eccentricity is exactly what ends up making the franchise even more memorable.
23. Nigel Thornberry (The Wild Thornberrys)
One of the main characters of The Wild Thornberrys, Sir Nigel Thornberry is also the host of Nigel Thornberry's Wild World. The 47 years old man has red hair and moustache.
Since he has always been an admirer of wild animals and their habitats, he decided to devote his entire life to studying them. Eliza Thornberry, who is another main character of the animated show, happens to be his second daughter.
If you wish to catch the man in action, you can also watch 2002's The Wild Thornberrys Movie.
22. Bruno Madrigal (Encanto)
Those who have seen Encanto remember Bruno Madrigal as Mirabel's hated uncle who has the ability to see the future. Since he is considered to be the "black sheep" among the Madrigals, he ends up estranging himself from his beloved clan.
However, it is difficult to deny that his love for his family runs deep and, therefore, keeps him close to them. Anyway, he has a really big prominent nose that makes him stand out easily.
21. Big Nose (Tangled)
We agree with Tangled viewers that Big Nose is perhaps the smartest of all the Pub Thugs in the pub known as the Snuggly Duckling. However, there's another reason that separates him from other characters in our story: He is a hopeless romantic who dreams about falling in love with someone who can see his inner beauty.
Even though he is a bonafide Pub Thug, he is known to be a good speaker and someone who often communicates philosophically. Also, he does have a gigantic schnozzle, but it only somehow ends up making him more attractive to the ladies.
20. Grumpy (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs)
Grumpy is one of the seven dwarfs in the iconic animated motion picture Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. His nose is noticeably larger than anyone else's in the story.
True to his name, he often comes across as irritable and temperamental. That is precisely why he gets easily irked by the acts of the other six dwarfs. However, what makes Grumpy special is the fact that deep down, he possesses a warm heart; though he doesn't believe in allowing that side of his to come to the fore.
But, Snow White somehow gets it and, therefore, exclaims, "Why Grumpy, you do care!"
19. Squidward Tentacles (SpongeBob SquarePants)
Make way for one of the main characters of the hugely popular animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants. Squidward Tentacles is an unpleasant artist and musician who resides in an Easter Island head.
A touchy neighbour and coworker to both SpongeBob and Patrick, he loves painting self-portraits and playing the clarinet. While he may be talented and good at what he does, it is tough to ignore the fact that he can come across as pessimistic and self-indulgent at times.
He serves as the cashier at the Krusty Krab probably to make some extra bucks.
18. Billy (The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy)
The silly Billy is one of the first characters that come to mind when discussing cartoon characters with big noses. He lives in Endsville and has an extremely low IQ.
Best known for his close friendship with Grim Reaper and Mandy, he is someone who always manages to get into trouble due to his curious nature. What's worse is that he needs someone to come to his aid to get him out of that situation.
Even though Billy is not as smart and has a penchant for getting into trouble, he is a faithful friend who likes nothing more than spending time with his close mates.
17. Charles Montgomery Burns (The Simpsons)
Charles Montgomery Burns is undoubtedly the most popular antagonist of arguably the most popular animated sitcom of all time, The Simpsons. Better known as Mr Burns, he is the wicked and selfish owner of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, as well as someone who barely even thinks about the safety of residents.
However, his self-indulgent and manipulative demeanour has never stopped him from consolidating his position as the richest and most powerful citizen. So, do not make the mistake Mr Burns for looking frail and timid for he is as ruthless and relentless as they come; especially when he wants to get something done.
The elderly man is best remembered for his bald head and prominent and long beak-like nose.
16. Ferb (Phineas and Ferb)
Ferb is the step-brother of Phineas and Candice, who can easily be recognised due to his big and rectangular-shaped nose. Witty and kind as he may be, he also happens to be a quitter of sorts.
Be that as it may, it's possible that Phineas would not have been able to complete many of his inventions had it not been for the fabulous Ferb.
15. Phineas Flynn (Phineas And Ferb)
The optimistic Phineas Flynn is one of the two titular characters of the hit cartoon series Phineas and Ferb. What makes him stand out is his eagerness to look for something positive in each day.
That is perhaps why he often believes in indulging himself in productive activities. While his large pointy nose justifies his spot on our list, what makes us want to place him on No. 15 is also the fact that he seems to be determined to make the most of his summer vacation.
So, while his brother Ferb keeps developing stuff from time to time, Flynn is often seen designing them.
14. Captain K'nuckles (The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack)
This middle-aged, washed-up pirate is a mentor and friend to Flapjack. He lives in the fictional city of Stormalong Harbor and is addicted to both candy and fibbing; the latter to perhaps exaggerate his stories to make himself look better.
He may also be a lazy and self-centred character but he has a good heart that wants the best for Flapjack. Sure, his poor decision-making often makes things difficult for him but we can't help but acknowledge his attempts to make amends for his misdeeds.
13. The Little Man (Pink Panther)
Popularly known as Big Nose today, this character was originally named The Little Man and The White Man. However, his remarkably large nose propelled the makers to rename him. The guy duly served as an antagonist in the animated series throughout the years of its telecast.
Best remembered for his distinctive big nose and scruffy moustache, he appears to be withstanding unceasing bad luck. However, what perhaps makes him feel even worse is that the popular Pink Panther ensures that most things work for him the way he wants them to.
12. Collete Tatou (Ratatouille)
Since Collete Tatou is the only female cook of Gusteau's in Paris, it automatically makes her an inspiring female cartoon character with a distinctively big nose. While she takes pride in referring to herself as the "toughest cook in the kitchen”, it is also true that she has to battle misogynistic views in her profession.
However, her hard work bears fruit and she eventually makes it to the top. Needless to say, she is the key to the movie's message.
11. Con Artist Al Swindler (Garfield and Friends)
There's no denying that this car salesperson and con artist has one of the biggest noses ever seen on a cartoon character. He is best remembered for constantly conning the ever-gullible Jon and, eventually, getting outsmarted by Garfield.
As a matter of fact, he is often tricked by the titular character into believing and doing things.
10. Jafar (Aladdin)
Make for the iconic Jafar, who serves as the main villain of the classic animated motion picture loved across the globe, Aladdin. He derives his strength from the fact that he is the Royal Vizier of Agrabah and the Sultan's most trusted advisor.
In truth, he has spent a major part of his life trying to gain ownership of a magic lamp; especially because he has thought of nothing more than to overtake Sultan's throne.
It is not surprising than that his wicked thoughts are complemented by his wicked appearance.
9. Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth (Futurama)
One of the smartest cartoon characters out there, Professor Farnsworth seems to be obsessed with his inventions. Even as a teenager, he showed a grave interest in science and has since ensured that it reflects in his work.
While he may be a scientist and a professor, what makes him come across as unique is that some of his creations are capable of disobeying the laws of physics itself.
Sure, he is a ridiculously intelligent man, but trust us when we assert that his intelligence finds a competitor in his undeniable senility.
8. Ice King (Adventure Time)
We have all heard that power corrupts and that absolute power corrupts absolutely. Trust Ice King to illustrate the same, especially after he discoveres an enchanted crown that ends up granting him ice powers.
Therefore, he is portrayed as a tragic figure who is often misunderstood and lonely throughout the series. So, even though he can risk being weak at times, it’s tough to forget how he captures pretty princesses and tricks them into becoming his wives.
The wicked and villainous Ice King is a deeply stirring and complex character who also has moments of kindness and empathy in the series.
7. Felonius Gru (The Despicable Me Franchise)
One of the most famous characters with a big nose has to be the main protagonist of the Despicable Me franchise of animated feature films. He has always dreamt of going to the moon and has three adopted daughters.
Also, he happens to be the leader of the Minions. While it’s true that he exudes a negative energy in the movies, the viewers relate to him a tad more when they learn that he was always bullied as a child.
Unfortunately, it ended up damaging his self-esteem and turned him into an extremely bitter person. Therefore, Gru's problems are the reason he turned out to be the person we know him as today.
6. Sylvester the Cat (Looney Tunes)
We have all been ardent fans of Looney Tunes while growing up. So, it'd be safe to say that our story would have probably been incomplete without the inclusion of Sylvester in it.
This black and white cat is easy to recognize courtesy of his big red nose, and it seems like his main and, in fact, only job is to chase Tweety or Speedy Gonzales.
Be that as it may, Sylvester always turns out to be the loser despite his remarkable persistence.
5. Stimpson J. "Stimpy" Cat (The Ren & Stimpy Show)
The fun-loving Stimpy from The Ren & Stimpy Show loves to spread joy and go on enjoyable adventures with his best mate Ren. Often seen uttering his catchphrase, "Oh, joy!", he always seems to be ready for spontaneous plans in his day-to-day life.
Sure, he can come across as dim-witted to some, but can we ever negate the fact that can also be quite resourceful at times? That said, we adore the creature and his childlike attitude; so much so that we believe that he may pretty much be a human kid in the skin of a cat.
4. Mr Bean (Mr Bean)
Now, now, we all know who the very popular Mr Bean is and for how long he's been a part of our lives. But, it's his animated version we are going to be talking about today.
It is easy to recognise him thanks to his big nose and somewhat sleepy eyes. Also, you won't stumble upon a lot of people in the real world who love their toys more than their girlfriends.
That's precisely where Bean kicks in. The adorable-looking Bean may not come off as loquacious, but he certainly is clever enough to know what he wants. And, of course, his big nose kind of keeps drawing our attention to his difficult-to-forget face.
3. SpongeBob SquarePants (SpongeBob SquarePants)
SpongeBob is a character that has gone on to make its presence felt in popular culture in more ways than one. His playful attitude didn't only allow hundreds of kids to relate to him but also ended up making him a big success on the small screen.
This one-of-a-kind character loves to be in the company of his best pal Patrick and wants nothing more than to get a boating license. However, he seems to get the goddam jitters every single time he takes charge of a boatmobile.
This sneaky cartoon character, who has a great singing voice and is a good climber, shows up the gap between his teeth when he whistles.
2. Goofy (A Goofy Movie)
This male cartoon character was reportedly created in 1932 by Walt Disney. A friend of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, he made his first appearance in Mickey's Revue (1932). Goofy is a funny dog who belongs to the Goof family.
While his wife is Mrs Geef, his son is named Max Goof. If you are keen to catch him in action, you can try watching him in 1995's A Goofy Movie as well.
1. Pinocchio (Pinocchio)
In the 1940 animated feature film Pinocchio, the titular character experiences a daring and incredible life journey that sees him become a real boy from the wooden puppet that he originally was.
This symbolic story has resonated with multiple generations, veritably making Pinocchio one of the most amazing cartoon characters ever created. Voiced by Dickie Jones, he comes across as disobedient and stubborn at first.
However, he soon learns to be brave, honest, and caring, which makes for a wonderful character arc in the movie. He's so adorably innocent and naïve that you can't help but want to see him find safety and happiness.
What distinguishes him from the other characters in our story is that the more he lies, the longer his nose grows to be.
