Top 50 Most Popular 90s Singers

top 50 most popular 90s singers

If the 80s music was all about new and innovative music, electronic sounds, and change in the music scene, the 90s music took it further and solidified the new styles that were introduced.

The 1990s decade brought forward many new, influential, and promising names who would rule the music genres in the future. We saw many new, stronger and better performers in genres like Grunge, Alternative music, Hip-hop, Pop music, electronic music, boy bands and girl bands.

New artists like Jay Z, Eminem, Britney Spears, Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, etc. emerged and went on to rule the industry. The old guard was not to be ignored either as bigger and grander albums were released from stars like Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Madonna, Elton John, Cher, etc.

We saw Grammy-winning performances from Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Sting, etc. While some of the singers had short-lived glory, they left an indelible mark in our memories. This was particularly true for boy bands and girl bands like Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, N’SYNC etc.

Due to this, we have had to leave out many great singers and performers from this list as well. It is difficult to rank the most famous singers of the 1990s and do justice to all the great artists.

Hence, I have tried to include artists with more hits that were released in the decade and ranked them based on their fame in that decade alone. If I have missed some artists or if you are not happy with the ranking, please forgive me as it was a hard task with so many great singers.

Having cleared that up, ENTOIN brings you its list of top singers from the 1990s who have given us the best music of the decade.
