His performances in No Country for Old Men, Jamón jamón, Boca a Boca, Before Night Falls, Being the Ricardos, Biutiful and Vicky Cristina Barcelona have earned him widespread fame. Bardem has also acted in the Bond film Skyfall.


Bardem is the only Spanish actor to date to have been nominated and to have won an Academy Award. He's been married to actress Penélope Cruz since 2010 and became the ambassador of Greenpeace for Antarctica.
