Gugulethu Sophia Mbatha-Raw MBE is an English actress known for her performances both in theatre and on-screen. She started her career in theatre and gained critical acclaim for her roles of Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Octavia in Anthony and Cleopatra and Ophelia in Hamlet.

 

Her breakthrough film was in the period drama Belle, followed by a series of critically acclaimed hits like Beyond the Lights, Miss Sloane, A Wrinkle in Time Misbehaviour, Beauty and the Beast and Brooklyn. Gugulethu has also starred in television quite a bit with Doctor Who, Loki, Undercovers and Touch being some of her shows. In 2021, she was appointed the global Goodwill Ambassador for the UNHCR.

Despite pressure from the NFL and the Pittsburgh community, Omalu stands by his findings and fights for player safety. His efforts are vindicated years later when former player Dave Duerson commits suicide and offers his brain for research.

 

The NFL is forced to take the concussion issue seriously, and Omalu's work sparks a wave of lawsuits from former players.

But even in 1948, Newton's legacy is still felt when his great-grandson Davis is arrested for violating Mississippi's anti-miscegenation laws, which were designed to oppress people of mixed race.

As the case proceeds, witnesses corroborate the happenings of the day and what went down through the years, all proving Mike's guilty. While Mike takes the stand and claims responsibility for the murder, Janelle realises that Mike is trying to protect someone and decides to get to the bottom of it, despite Richard's reluctance.
